Special collections

In addition to the large scale domain crawls, the Luxembourg Web Archive also operates targeted crawls aimed at specific subjects or events. The resulting collections aim at preserving a maximum amount of information on a certain subject over a limited period of time. Other collections explore a certain theme or area of society and are supposed to grow over time.
There is a sea of information to be explored and stories to tell.
Let us know what topics should make it into special collections.
What are the subjects and events worth exploring and saving?

2017 LOCAL ELECTIONS

The first targeted event crawl run by the Luxembourg Web Archive. Also, featuring the first call for participation, first experiences with harvesting social media and building a seed list, that would set the foundation for the election crawls of 2018 and 2019 as well.

2018 NATIONAL ELECTIONS

As a direct continuation of the local elections harvests, the national elections event crawl builds on the experiences and information gained from the year before. With a smaller number of candidates, different priorities have changed.

2019 EUROPEAN ELECTIONS

The third chapter in over 3 years of uninterrupted political discourse and campaigning in Luxembourg. Although less elaborate than the 2017 and 2018 election crawls, the European elections offer another point of view on certain candidates and news media articles.

2019 SOCIAL ELECTIONS
